LG Uplus reveals a fresh selection of mobile plans, tailored for international users
LG Uplus, a leading telecommunications company in South Korea, has launched a special promotional lineup of seven mobile plans tailored for foreign residents in the country. These plans are available until December 29, 2025, and range from 37,000 won to 85,000 won (approximately $27 to $62) per month.

- International Calling: All plans include free international calls up to 90 minutes monthly.
- Data Allowances and Speeds: The most affordable plan offers 5GB at full speed, followed by a 9GB plan with similar speed throttling post data limit. Higher-tier plans include a 150GB plan with throttling to 5 Mbps, and an unlimited data plan.
- Data Bonuses for Younger Users: Subscribers under age 34 receive additional monthly data ranging from 4GB to 60GB depending on the plan.
- Roaming Benefits: LG Uplus offers a Roaming Pass add-on that doubles users' data allowance while traveling abroad.
Eligibility and Service
The plans are available to foreign residents holding a valid Residence Card. Customers can sign up online or at LG Uplus’s physical stores, which have been designated in areas with high foreign resident populations. LG Uplus has 67 such stores nationwide, with over 170 multilingual consultants to assist customers in 17 languages including English, Vietnamese, Lao, Chinese, and Russian.
Background
With approximately 2.1 million foreign residents, making up over 4% of the national population, the need for easier, more affordable ways to stay in touch with family and friends abroad was identified. The new plans were developed based on internal research identifying specific communication needs among foreign residents.
