In a significant move towards modernising their services, Lloyds Banking Group has announced a collaboration with NCR Atleos for an 'innovation branch' pilot in Manchester and Glasgow. This partnership aims to enhance the branch experience, increase operational efficiencies, and provide more innovative, robust self-service experiences.
NCR Atleos' ATM as a Service (ATMaaS) proposition, as demonstrated by Lloyds Banking Group's implementation, features a comprehensive, end-to-end service model that combines advanced ATM technology with outsourced operational management. This includes the complete outsourcing of ATM operations, advanced note and coin technology, a scalable and connected ATM network, a service-first, digital-first approach, and operational efficiencies.
By shifting transactions to self-service ATMs, Lloyds Banking Group can optimise the availability of their ATMs, reduce back-office complexities, and meet customer demand for convenient, anytime access to cash and banking services. The latest Atleos recycling technology, including coin in and coin out functionality, transaction processing, and engineering services, is being implemented.
This collaboration will enable Lloyds Banking Group to expand access to cash and other critical financial services, reducing traffic for the counter service, and freeing employee time for meaningful customer interactions. Branch colleagues will no longer be required to maintain any element of the ATM.
