Luxury automaker Shoreline Bespoke unveils a captivating, lightweight supercar design

==============================================================================

Shoreline Bespoke, an automotive start-up based in California, is set to release a limited production supercar that harks back to the spirit of the classic 1960s sports prototypes. The LM Coupe, conceived and created by Spencer Beckman, has already captured the attention of car enthusiasts, with the first year of production already sold out.

The LM Coupe's development is a testament to the lifelong friendship between Spencer Beckman and Kyle Krueger, who met in first grade and bonded over their shared love of cars. Their journey began with building a Lotus Seven-inspired pedal car in high school, and Beckman's first ground-up vehicle design for a senior year engineering project. Krueger, meanwhile, gained technical experience working at a BMW repair shop.

Both pursued engineering degrees at top universities on opposite sides of the world, with Beckman joining an Oxford-based startup incubator and Krueger working at Ford, where he co-authored four patents before moving into aerospace engineering.

The LM Coupe's creation took shape in Los Angeles, where Beckman and Krueger spent extensive time reading vehicle safety codes and designing over 500 components using CAD software. They developed a bespoke tube-frame chassis mostly in-house, and integrated a compact, high-revving motorcycle-derived BMW Motorrad engine that has been customized to deliver 250 hp with a redline of 10,000 rpm.

The engine's compact design, high power density, and integrated gearbox are key features that set the LM Coupe apart. Shoreline Bespoke's engine development partner is Ed Pink, the same company that has worked on Singer 911 Classic and Czinger 21C cars. The brakes for the LM Coupe are sourced from AP Racing, the same company that supplies brakes for the Bugatti Chiron Supersport 300+. The dampers for the LM Coupe are built-to-spec Öhlins coilovers.

The LM Coupe's power-to-weight ratio will be on par with a current 911 GT3 and have one of the lowest centers of gravity of any road vehicle. The LM Coupe Founder Edition cars come with carbon ceramic brakes fitted as standard and unique perks. The engine's specific output is in the same realm as the latest Cosworth hypercar V12s.

The LM Coupe Founder Edition cars are limited production, with up to 25 cars per year expected to be made. The production plans for the LM Coupe Founder Edition cars are allocated via deposit, with first deliveries projected in late 2027.

The LM Coupe was heavily inspired by the Porsche 906, Ferrari Dino 206 SP, and the Alfa Tipo 33. The hydraulic steering rack is a custom unit built by the same company that supplies steering systems to FIA LMP prototype, CanAm, and NASCAR teams. The dampers for the LM Coupe are built-to-spec Öhlins coilovers.

Spencer Beckman and Kyle Krueger's collaboration is a perfect example of how shared passions can lead to groundbreaking innovations. The LM Coupe is a modern interpretation of a classic 60s sports prototype, blending hands-on engineering, design, and innovation with expert partnerships to deliver a truly unique driving experience.

  1. Utilizing expertise from their past ventures in both the automotive and aerospace industries, Spencer Beckman and Kyle Krueger are partnering with technological leaders such as Ed Pink and AP Racing, demonstrating the fusion of finance and technology in the development of their LM Coupe.
  2. With the LM Coupe boasting a power-to-weight ratio on par with a current 911 GT3 and an engine specific output similar to the latest Cosworth hypercar V12s, it's evident that the seamless blend of sports, finance, and technology has led to a cutting-edge supercar for car enthusiasts.
