Luxury yacht builder Sanlorenzo unveils 120-foot perfection, featuring a stunning beach deck pop-up pool
Sanlorenzo's latest masterpiece, the SX120, is setting new standards in the superyacht world. This flagship model from the Italian yard's SX crossover range combines luxury, innovation, and sustainability with groundbreaking design and propulsion technology.
Powered by four Volvo Penta IPS Professional Platform engines, each pod equipped with twin 1000hp engines, the SX120 offers the performance of larger engines with a smaller footprint. The system includes an innovative "Eco Mode" that adjusts engine power based on real-time demand, optimizing fuel consumption, reducing emissions by up to 30%, and minimizing mechanical wear. The SX120 can reach a top speed of 23 knots and maintain a cruising speed of 20 knots, with a range of approximately 2,000 nautical miles.
This marks the first use of Volvo Penta's next-generation IPS on a composite yacht, emphasizing technological advancement and environmental consciousness.
The unique deck and interior design of the SX120 is a testament to its pioneering status. The yacht features a four-deck layout that rethinks onboard space by displacing volumes towards the bow and providing a spacious aft cockpit dedicated to bathing activities. The beach area, a standout feature, contains a fully retractable pop-up swimming pool. The pool can be covered via a lift and slide sundeck mechanism, allowing for optimal sailing conditions.
The beach area can expand from 40 to 70 square meters with opening terraces, providing water access on three sides and enhancing the connection with the sea. Exterior styling is by Italy’s Zuccon International Project, and interior design by Lissoni & Partners, blending modern aesthetic elegance with comfort.
Accommodation includes five cabins for up to 10 guests, with additional quarters for five or six crew members, ensuring privacy and luxury for all aboard. The forward area of the main deck is devoted to the owner's suite, offering sea views.
The SX120's sundeck, a transformed area from the flybridge, showcases a "Smart Island," a modular seating system that can be easily configured. Another alfresco lounge is located near the multipurpose space on the upper deck. The upper deck also includes a multipurpose space and another alfresco lounge, offering versatile living spaces.
The SX120 exemplifies a fusion of performance, elegance, and environmental responsibility, making it a pioneering superyacht for the modern luxury market.
