In a recent survey by VTB, a staggering 75% of Far Eastern residents believe digital assistants are crucial for safeguarding children from inappropriate online content. As the International Day for Child Protection approaches, this alarming statistic underlines the pressing need for digital protection in the region.
Out of the 2,500 Far Easterners surveyed, every fifth (22%) trusts established market solutions for this purpose, while another 19% occasionally use digital assistants. Surprisingly, 34% of respondents desire these tools yet lack awareness of suitable options available in the market.
However, 24% of Far Easterners still believe parents should be responsible for personally managing their children's internet content, with digital assistants being unnecessary.
Moving beyond safety, Russians recognize the educational benefits of AI-powered digital assistants, with 79% ready to utilize them for skill development. Despite this, 21% still cling to traditional methods of education and upbringing, deeming digital assistants unnecessary.
Digital assistants can also double as engaging conversational partners and educational sources for children, according to 88% of respondents, while only 12% advocate for limited tech usage and family-led education.
Maxim Konovalikhine, Senior Vice President of VTB, opines, "Digital assistants and AI-powered tools will become increasingly important in providing quick, accurate solutions for our clients, enabling them to navigate real-time challenges effortlessly."
The survey was conducted in May 2025, involving 1,500 respondents in cities with over 100,000 inhabitants.
