Mazda Clarifies: No 'Takuya' Models, Special Editions Revealed in 2011

Mazda clarified that it never produced models named 'Mazda2 Takuya', 'Mazda3 Takuya', and 'Mazda6 Takuya'. In 2011, Mazda offered the Mazda2, Mazda3, and Mazda6, but no specific versions called 'Takuya'. This has caused some confusion.

However, Mazda did reveal three special models in 2011, named after the Japanese word for 'proud'. The Mazda2 Takuya, based on the Mazda2 Tamura, came with a 1.3-litre engine, fog lights, rear electric windows, climate control, and a Parrot Bluetooth kit, priced at £11,940.

The Mazda3 Takuya, based on the Mazda3 TS, featured a 1.6-litre engine, fog lights, LED rear lights, climate control, built-in Bluetooth, 17-inch alloys, automatic lights and wipers, and a sports styling kit, priced at £16,695.

The Mazda6 Takuya, based on the Mazda6 TS, offered three engine options: 2.0-litre five-door, 2.2-litre diesel five-door, and 2.2-litre diesel estate. All came with 18-inch alloys, sports grill, fog lights, privacy glass, automatic lights, climate control, Bluetooth, and a six-disc CD player. Metallic paint was included in the price, ranging from £20,495 to £22,325.

Only 3,894 units of these special Takuya models were made.

While the 'Takuya' models were not officially named as such, Mazda did produce special editions in 2011 with unique features and pricing. These models were limited in production, making them desirable to collectors.
