Mercedes-Benz Has Crafted a Road-Bound Aircraft Experience with the Vision V Limo Jet

The Mercedes-Benz Vision V Concept, unveiled at the Shanghai Auto Show in 2023, is set to revolutionise the landscape of luxury electric vans. Although the production version is not slated for immediate production, with its availability yet to be determined, the anticipation for its release in 2026 is palpable.

The Vision V Concept is poised to make its transition to the production line, with the refined production model expected to be unveiled in 2026. This production version is likely to be branded under the upcoming VLE or VLS model names, both built on Mercedes' new VAN.EA electric platform designed specifically for luxury electric vans.

### Production Status

The production model based on the Vision V concept, called the VLE, and the more exclusive VLS variant, are planned for launch in 2026. The U.S. market will receive the VLE for the 2027 model year. While the production vans will be somewhat toned down from the concept's ultra-futuristic styling, they will still retain the original concept's essence.

### Expected Features

The interior of the Vision V is designed like an ultra-exclusive executive lounge, with sustainable materials and four independent seats, each offering individual climate zones, massage functions, and entertainment controls. The spacious flat-floor design enabled by the VAN.EA platform allows maximum flexibility and premium appointments inside the cabin. Seating for up to eight passengers is expected, targeting VIP, family, and business clientele.

The van supports multiple modes, including Work mode (for video calls and productivity tools), Shopping mode (virtual storefront), Discovery mode (augmented reality exploration of surroundings), and Karaoke mode. The centerpiece of the Vision V's interior is a massive 65-inch retractable cinema screen that rises from below the floor, accompanied by a Dolby Atmos surround sound system with 42 speakers, including seat-integrated ones, along with seven projectors to create an immersive 360-degree experience.

The VLE and VLS models will both offer fully electric powertrains, though internal combustion or hybrid options may come later due to platform flexibility.

### Pricing

While official pricing has not yet been announced, early estimates and industry speculation suggest a price around $200,000, positioning it as a high-end luxury electric minivan competing with models like the Lexus LM and Volvo EM90.

In summary, the Vision V concept’s production version is imminent, promising to redefine luxury electric vans with cutting-edge digital experiences, a first-class interior, and a new era of Mercedes-Benz MPVs starting from 2026. Pricing is expected to be in the ultra-premium range at approximately $200,000.
