Meta introduces innovative Ray-Ban eyewear, featuring augmented reality visuals
Meta Unveils New Line of Smart Glasses: Meta Ray-Ban Display
Meta has made a splash at its annual Meta Connect event with the unveiling of a new pair of smart glasses – the Meta Ray-Ban Display. This latest offering from the tech giant is a stylish upgrade to its existing line, resembling Ray-Ban Wayfarers in appearance while offering an augmented reality meta display.
The display on the Meta Ray-Ban Display is large enough to watch a video, yet remains hidden from view when not in use, ensuring a sleek and unobtrusive design. The display is projected onto the inside of the right lens, providing a private viewing experience.
Just like its predecessor, the Meta Ray-Ban meta glasses, this new model comes equipped with a camera, speakers, and microphone. The glasses can make video calls via a Bluetooth connection to your phone, and they can interact with messaging apps like WhatsApp and Messenger. The display can show text, images, and live video calls, making it a versatile tool for communication and entertainment.
The display can also be used as a viewfinder for photographs, and it disappears after a few seconds when not in use to save battery life. A new interface for the Meta Ray-Ban Display uses muscle movements picked up by the Neural Band, a wrist-worn device bundled with the glasses.
Meta has also unveiled two other pairs of AI smart glasses at the event. The display-free Oakley Meta Vanguard, designed for sports users, features a wraparound design, a camera integrated in the nose piece, and swappable lenses and nosepads. Meanwhile, the next-generation Ray-Ban Meta meta glasses offer boosted battery life and a higher resolution video camera.
Meta has signed up Garmin to integrate the glasses with the sports company's watches and bike computers. However, the search results do not provide information about which person or company collaborates with Garmin for integrating smart glasses into the company's sports products.
The Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses are set to launch at the end of September in the US, with the UK, France, Italy, and Canada getting the technology early next year. With its stylish design, versatile features, and integration with popular apps, the Meta Ray-Ban Display is poised to revolutionize the way we interact with technology.
