Midjourney Unveils V1 AI Video Generation Model Amidst Legal Dispute
Midjourney, a leading AI company, has launched its V1 AI video generation model. This comes amidst a legal dispute with Disney and Universal over copyright infringement. The new model, positioned alongside competitors like OpenAI's Sora and Adobe's Firefly, is specifically designed for creative uses, including video generation.
The V1 model can create four five-second videos from a single image, either user-uploaded or generated by Sabrina Carpenter. This feature, however, comes at a higher cost, eight times that of a typical image generation. Midjourney CEO David Holz sees this as a stepping stone towards real-time open-world simulations.
Midjourney plans to expand its AI models to 3D renderings and real-time AI models after video models. Subscribers to Midjourney's Pro ($60/month) and Mega ($120/month) plans enjoy unlimited video generations in 'Relax' mode. For those eager to try out the V1 model, the cheapest option is the Basic plan at $10/month.
Midjourney's V1 AI video generation model offers a new creative tool for users, despite the ongoing legal dispute with Disney and Universal. The company's plans to expand into 3D renderings and real-time AI models show its commitment to pushing the boundaries of AI technology.
