Mitsui Fudosan intends to launch a business center focused on the chip industry within Tokyo.
In the heart of Tokyo's Nihonbashi district, Japanese real estate developer Mitsui Fudosan Co. is set to launch a groundbreaking facility in October 2023. Named Rise-A, this new hub aims to promote interaction and cooperation across industries, with a specific focus on strengthening Japan's competitiveness in the semiconductor sector.
At the helm of Rise-A is Professor Hiroshi Amano, a Nobel laureate in Physics, recognised for his work on blue light-emitting diodes in 2014. Under his leadership, the facility will serve as a platform for people from various fields to gather, exchange ideas, and hold discussions.
The primary objective of Rise-A is to provide users with the latest developments in the semiconductor sector, including power semiconductors, which have applications in electric vehicles and other innovative technologies. Professor Amano has expressed concerns about the current state of power semiconductors and sees Rise-A as an opportunity to address these issues and foster collaboration.
The facility is expected to attract about 100 companies annually, creating new business opportunities and fostering a vibrant semiconductor community. Rise-A, both the organization and the facility, has been established specifically for this purpose, with the aim of promoting interchanges to enhance Japan's competitiveness in the global semiconductor market.
With its strategic location in the bustling Nihonbashi district, Rise-A is poised to become a significant player in the semiconductor industry, providing a space for innovation, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas. As Japan continues to invest in technology and innovation, Rise-A promises to play a crucial role in shaping the future of the semiconductor sector.
In conjunction with the launch of Rise-A, delegates will be able to access a vast array of data-and-cloud-computing resources, leveraging technology to facilitate seamless collaboration and knowledge transfer. Furthermore, Professor Amano, spearheading this project, has emphasized the importance of hosting regular photo sessions within Rise-A, aiming to capture the spirit of innovation and collaboration that the facility fosters.
