NESN Debuts Upgraded NESN 360 App for iOS and Android Devices
The New England Sports Network (NESN) has unveiled a revamped version of its NESN 360 app, marking a significant step forward in the network's legendary leadership in sports media. This new, enhanced app, launched in July 2025, promises a simpler, more connected experience for users, with several key improvements set to benefit sports fans for the remainder of the year and beyond.
One of the most notable features of the updated app is a condensed, easier, and password-less sign-in process, designed to create a smoother login experience. The redesigned user interface is sleeker and more intuitive, ensuring faster and more reliable navigation.
For live game streaming, the app now boasts enhanced stability and reliability, particularly for Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins events, thanks to the cloud streaming platform ViewLift. The app is now available across iOS, Android, and major connected TV platforms, with plans for extended roll-out on more devices.
David Wisnia, president and CEO of NESN and SportsNet Pittsburgh, emphasized that this relaunch is not a one-time update but the beginning of ongoing improvements and innovations planned for the app's future. Core improvements have been laid to support ongoing feature rollouts throughout the rest of 2025, aimed at continuously elevating the fan experience, including upcoming Bruins seasons and other NESN content.
Features like 4K HDR streaming, on-the-go viewing, pause/rewind/restart live games, and exclusive shows continue to be supported, with improved performance and reliability. The improved app is expected to deliver a better experience for the second half of the Boston Red Sox season, the upcoming Bruins season, and all other content that NESN exhibits.
The relaunch of the NESN 360 app is particularly significant for Red Sox fans as they approach the playoffs. ViewLift, which currently manages streaming for 16 professional teams and six other regional sports networks, powers the underlying technology for the app.
Following a price reduction in February for annual plans from $330 to $240, subscription numbers for the NESN 360 app reached their highest at the start of the 2025 Red Sox season. More information about the app and how to download it is available online.
Innovation is core to NESN's DNA, and the relaunch of the NESN 360 app is the beginning of a foundation for ongoing improvement, according to Wisnia. The network, which is the TV home of MLB's Red Sox and the NHL's Boston Bruins, will continue to develop new features for the app throughout the rest of the year.
