Neumaier Unveils Outdoor Autonomous Driverless Transport System

Neumaier Industry GmbH & Co. KG has introduced an autonomous driverless transport system (FTS) for outdoor use, designed to ensure safe and efficient material flow between different areas of factories. The 'Factory E-Truck', a counterbalanced forklift, can handle pallet transport under varying weather and lighting conditions.

The system uses a combination of geo-navigation with contour recognition and GNSS-based satellite navigation for precise movement. Deliveries can occur at fixed stations or directly from the ground, with a weather protection cover available for sensitive goods.

The entire working area is monitored by safety scanners that generate warning and protective fields, ensuring early detection of people or obstacles. The forklift independently recognises charging needs, drives to the charging station, and can take up energy there inductively. Neumaier has successfully used this outdoor FTS in industrial environments, with a recent example being the commissioning of three autonomous forklifts at a medical technology company. The 'Factory E-Truck' system was first used in an industrial environment in 2018.

Neumaier's autonomous driverless transport system offers a safe and efficient solution for material flow outside traditional warehouse structures. With its patented technology ensuring reliable safety laserscanners even in adverse weather conditions, the 'Factory E-Truck' can pick up, transport, and precisely set down European pallets and other load carriers, contributing to smoother operations in various industrial settings.
