New Release: Klipsch Introduces Professional In-Ceiling Speaker Collection - Crucial Details Inside

Klipsch, a renowned name in audio technology, has unveiled its latest offering - the Professional In-Ceiling Series (PIC). This new line of speakers is designed to deliver adjustable precision sound dispersion, high efficiency, and robust two-way driver performance, making them ideal for immersive distributed audio systems.

Key Features and Specifications

The PIC series boasts Controlled Dispersion Technology (CDT), a patent-pending gimbal mechanism that allows independent adjustment of the tweeter and woofer. This feature enables precise direction of high and low frequencies towards the listening area, enhancing sound clarity and coverage.

With a sensitivity rating of about 93 dB, these speakers deliver louder sound at lower power, which is beneficial for whole-house audio systems where amplifier power may diminish over long cable runs.

The two-way driver design combines a 1" silk dome compression driver tweeter mated to a swiveling 100° Tractrix Horn, and an 8" polypropylene woofer. Both the horn and woofer can be rotated to direct sound optimally, with the woofer rotating 360° and shifting 15° in any direction.

Typically rated up to 50 watts, the PIC speakers are suitable for a variety of residential and commercial installations. They feature an impedance of generally 8 ohms, compatible with most home audio amplifiers.

Additional Features

The PIC series comes with Phoenix connectors for quick and intuitive pre-wiring connections. Square grilles for the PIC models are available separately, while the PIC models are designed with round, magnetic paintable grilles, available in both black and white.

The new PIC models come in four sizes: 4.5-inch, 6.5-inch, 8-inch, and two 5.25-inch designs. The PIC-800SW features an 8-inch woofer and provides deep bass, enhancing system design flexibility.

The PIC series is compatible with Klipsch's current pendant housings (KPH525, KPH-650, and KPH-800) for applications where ceiling mounting isn't possible.

Durability and Installation Efficiency

The PIC series offers an IPX5 rating for durability and reliability. It also features the patented Tractrix Hyperfold Port for enhanced bass power and reduced port noise. The new 1" Titanium-loaded floating driver bridge with a wide dispersion phase plug aims to significantly reduce installation times, saving labor costs.

Replacing the IC Series

The PIC series replaces the IC Series, offering similar voicing and transducers to the PSM and RSM series. Klipsch's new Professional In-Ceiling Series loudspeakers are set to redefine audio performance in both home and commercial environments.
