New Territory Explored: Satisfy Unveils Its Debut In-House Trail Running Shoe
In a bold step forward for the French performance apparel label, SATISFY has released its first in-house running shoe, TheROCKER. This innovative trail running sneaker is designed for off-road adventures, showcasing several key technical features that make it a standout in the industry.
The upper of TheROCKER is constructed from Rippy 66 Monomesh, a material that provides breathability, strength, abrasion resistance, moisture wicking, and improved fit. This semi-translucent bespoke material stabilizes the foot and manages moisture effectively, making it ideal for challenging terrains.
The midsole features SATISFY's proprietary Euforia™ foam, a custom blend of PEBA and EVA, 3D-printed for maximum cushioning without added bulk. It supports rolling strides and cushions landings while balancing super-shoe speed with trail-runner stability.
The outsole utilizes a TuneLug™ pattern inspired by the grip dynamics of RC racing tires. The circular lugs wrap 360 degrees around the midsole for durability and superior traction on varied terrains. The sole is made in collaboration with Vibram, using their MegaGrip Litebase compound to reduce weight while enhancing grip and control.
The design of TheROCKER combines avant-garde aesthetic with performance innovation, featuring chunky outsole lugs and semi-translucent uppers. The shoe launches in three colorways—Falcon, Shadow, and Antique White.
SATISFY's expertise in materials and performance comes from past collaborations with notable brands like Salomon, HOKA, norda, and Crocs. The collaboration with Vibram for the outsole is especially notable for its use of innovative outsole technology designed around RC car tire grip dynamics, reflecting a unique fusion of founder Brice Partouche’s interests and technical innovation.
TheROCKER boasts an asymmetrical lacing system for a more customizable fit, contributing to its sleek look suitable for city wear. The shoe weighs 280g and has a heel stack height of 32mm and a forefoot stack height of 27mm, providing a balanced cushioning for trail running.
However, it's worth noting that TheROCKER is not waterproof, although its breathable upper does offer some moisture resistance. The midsole density is 45c, ensuring a responsive and cushioned ride.
TheROCKER marks a significant milestone in SATISFY's evolution from a niche performance apparel label to a complete performance footwear brand, emphasizing cutting-edge materials, 3D printing, and design innovation tailored for trail and all-terrain running.
