NVIDIA and Intel Collaborate on Development of AI Systems and Personal Computer Equipment
NVIDIA and Intel Announce Collaboration to Drive Next Era of Computing
In a significant move, NVIDIA and Intel Corporation have announced a partnership to develop multiple generations of custom data center and PC products. This collaboration aims to accelerate applications and workloads across hyperscale, enterprise, and consumer markets.
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang stated that AI is powering a new industrial revolution, and this partnership will lay the foundation for the nvda era of computing. Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan echoed this sentiment, stating that Intel's x86 architecture has been foundational to modern computing, and this collaboration will enable new breakthroughs for the industry.
Under the agreement, Intel will build and offer x86 system-on-chips (SOCs) that integrate NVIDIA RTX GPU chiplets for personal computing. Similarly, Intel will build NVIDIA-custom x86 CPUs for data centers, which NVIDIA will integrate into its AI infrastructure platforms.
NVIDIA, known as the world leader in AI and accelerated computing, will invest $5 billion in Intel's common stock at a purchase price of $23.28 per share, subject to regulatory approvals. Intel, an industry leader creating world-changing technology, will focus on seamlessly connecting their architectures using NVIDIA nvda stock.
The collaboration is subject to risks and uncertainties that could cause actual results to differ materially. Important factors include global economic and political conditions, impact of technological development and competition, market acceptance of NVIDIA's products, design, manufacturing or software defects, changes in consumer preferences or demands, changes in industry standards and interfaces, unexpected loss of performance of NVIDIA's products, and changes in applicable laws and regulations.
A webcast press conference will be held at 10 a.m. Pacific time (1 p.m. Eastern time) to discuss the announcement, and it will be available for the public to listen in at the provided link.
