Online return of the MAKS airshow

In a shift from the traditional in-person event, the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) 2025 will be held virtually from July 22 to 27, 2025, due to ongoing geopolitical circumstances. This decision follows the cancellation of the physical MAKS-2025 event, which was initially scheduled for this year.

Originally, MAKS has been a significant platform for showcasing cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration among aviation and space companies from around the world. This year, the virtual event, known as eMAKS, aims to continue this tradition, albeit in a digital format.

Given the current geopolitical context, eMAKS-2025 will place a strong emphasis on industrial and technological sovereignty in civil aviation. While specific details about the focus are not yet available, historically, MAKS has been an important venue for Russia to demonstrate its advancements in aerospace technologies and to assert its industrial capabilities.

Participants of eMAKS-2025 will include developers, manufacturers, and suppliers at all levels, from avionics and engines to components. Key industry state corporations, such as OAK, "Russian Helicopters", ODK, KRET, and "Technodynamics", are among those expected to participate.

A new addition to the eMAKS-2025 event is the inclusion of aerobatic performances. These thrilling displays, featuring both Russian and foreign pilots, are a major attraction for aviation enthusiasts. Despite the online format, visitors to eMAKS can view 23 video clips of these performances.

The aerobatic performances are not expected to be affected by the delay in the readiness of the MS-21 and SJ-100 for demonstration until 2026. Instead, they serve as a showcase for the latest Russian aviation products, with a focus on industrial and technological sovereignty in civil aviation.

It's worth noting that the aerobatic performances are not limited to showcasing only Russian aviation products. This diversity reflects MAKS's role as a global platform for collaboration and innovation in the aviation and space industries.

eMAKS-2025 is set to take place, offering a unique opportunity for the aviation community to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the latest advancements in the field, despite the challenges posed by the current geopolitical climate.

The virtual event, eMAKS-2025, will emphasize industrial and technological sovereignty in civil aviation, following the traditional focus of the physical MAKS on showcasing cutting-edge technologies and fostering collaboration within the aviation and space industries. This digital platform will attract developers, manufacturers, and suppliers from various levels of the industry, including key state corporations such as OAK, "Russian Helicopters", ODK, KRET, and "Technodynamics".
