Patagonia unveils record-light Nano-Air jacket - astonishingly lightweight jacket, ideal for dynamic spring outdoor activities.

Patagonia's iconic Nano-Air jacket receives a significant update, unveiling the Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody. This latest version has retained the success factors of the original 2014 design, such as FullRange insulation and a soft, flexible shell, but with a substantial reduction in weight. The Ultralight variant weighs only 249g for men and 215g for women, a remarkable reduction from the 400g of the original design.

This decrease in weight and bulk allows the Ultralight Hoody to excel in layering during colder seasons and offers superior breathability, making it a suitable choice for high-intensity outdoor activities. The slim fit ensures users can comfortably layer other garments underneath without compromising movement.

The Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody remains durable despite its lightweight construction, with a ripstop polyester shell designed to withstand strap rubbing. The high collar guards against wind, while the passive hood adjusts to fit under a helmet without interfering with toggles. The jacket also features a DWR treatment to offer some protection against light rain.

A clever design allows the jacket to pack away into the chest pocket, enabling users to attach it to their backpack or harness with a carabiner. The Ultralight Hoody is constructed using 100% recycled polyester and can be machine-washed for easy maintenance.

Comparatively lightweight alternatives to the Montane Fireball Lite, the Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody is expected to be a popular year-round layer, offering protection against cooler weather and serving as a versatile mid-layer option during winter.

Priced competitively at $249/£220 for men in Pollinator Orange, Wetland Blue, and Smolder Blue, and for women in Smolder Blue and Abundant Blue, the Patagonia Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody is now available for purchase.

  1. The Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody, with its lightweight construction, proves an excellent option for technology enthusiasts seeking gadgets that cater to sports activities, offering superior breathability and a slim fit for layering during colder seasons.
  2. After packing away the Nano-Air Ultralight Hoody into the chest pocket, it can be effortlessly attached to a backpack or harness using a carabiner, making it an ideal companion for high-intensity outdoor activities and a versatile technology gadget for sports enthusiasts.
