Peugeot 308 Facelift Challenges Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series
Peugeot has unveiled a facelift for the 308, with pricing details yet to be revealed. The French car manufacturer, known for its innovative designs, aims to position the 308 as a high-end competitor to models like the Audi A3 and BMW 1-Series.
The new 308 offers a range of engines, starting with a 1.2-litre mild hybrid petrol and a 1.5-litre BlueHDi 130 diesel. It's available in both five-door hatch and SW semi-estate body styles, along with a fully electric e-308 variant. The current base model starts at £33k, with plug-in hybrid models nearing £40k, offering 195 horsepower.
The facelifted 308 boasts a striking aesthetic, with a bold new Peugeot badge, elongated nose, and a drag coefficient of just 0.28. Peugeot aims to make the 308 an 'inventive high-end generalist', competing with established premium brands. Inside, the 308 features Peugeot's i-Cockpit interior with a compact steering wheel and a 10-inch digital instrument cluster. All models come with an automatic gearbox, prioritising refinement and efficiency.
The facelifted Peugeot 308, with its striking design and range of efficient powertrains, is set to compete in the premium compact car segment. Pricing details are yet to be announced, but the 308's innovative features and competitive positioning make it an exciting addition to the market.
