Michael Saylor, Executive Chairman of MicroStrategy and a leading Bitcoin advocate, has made a bold prediction that Bitcoin could reach an unprecedented $21 million per coin by 2046. This prediction is based on a specific model that assumes an annual price growth rate of approximately 29%, compounded over 21 years.

Saylor's optimistic projection is rooted in several transformative factors. These include the victory of Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential elections in November 2024 and the official backing of the White House towards Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies. The prediction also reflects heightened optimism due to increasing institutional investment, favourable regulatory developments, and macroeconomic uncertainty that could erode the value of traditional fiat currencies.

The course, 'The Basic Bitcoin Course', consisting of 16 lessons (11 videos) and free to start, is a clear, easy, safe, and fast way for beginners to learn about Bitcoin. The course revolves around two powerful ideas: self-custody and systematic investment, known as Dollar-Cost Averaging (DCA).

Saylor emphasises the fixed lifetime supply of only 21 million coins, Bitcoin's inherent scarcity, combined with growing global demand for decentralized and secure digital assets, as expected to drive Bitcoin's price higher as adoption expands. He also points to Bitcoin's astonishing historical returns—rising over 216 million percent from its all-time low in 2010—as evidence that dramatic price appreciation is possible, even if past performance is not a guarantee of future results.

Saylor advises investors to ignore media noise and maintain discipline, "hodling" with patience. He recommends a long-term investment plan of up to 21 years, buying a fixed amount of Bitcoin each year, to mitigate market volatility. This strategy, used by Saylor to accumulate bitcoins in the corporate reserves of MicroStrategy, allows for building a solid long-term position.

Moreover, Saylor recommends that investors have total control of their "private keys" for Bitcoin, aligning with the decentralizing philosophy of Bitcoin. He highlights key legislative advances such as the GENIUS Act, the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act, and the Bitcoin Act, which aim to position the United States as the global leader in crypto regulation.

As we approach the maximum total of 21 million units of Bitcoin, Saylor's vision of Bitcoin in 21 years is a call to bet on sustained growth and global financial transformation. Beyond price, Bitcoin transforms the financial system by offering a decentralized design, limited emission, and censorship resistance. Mass institutional adoption and regulatory clarity are key drivers for Bitcoin to consolidate as a global reserve asset and medium of exchange.

In light of Saylor's prediction and emphasis on Bitcoin's potential, it's plausible that technology-driven investments in the finance sector, such as cryptocurrencies, could become increasingly attractive to other investors as well. As infrastructures improve, regulations clarify, and institutional investment grows, the integration of Bitcoin and similar digital assets in the global financial system could lead to significant changes in the landscape of finance and technology.
