In a significant move, Sandeep Bhambra has taken over as the head of the Renault Design Centre India, while continuing in his role as Chief Designer Advanced Renault. Bhambra, who has spent years across India, the UK, and France, shaping concept and production cars alike, is tasked with guiding the creative direction of future vehicles, blending Renault's global design language with insights from Indian roads and customers.

Laurens van den Acker, Chief Design Officer, believes that Bhambra's international experience ensures that the Indian centre will play a central role in Renault's global design strategy. Meanwhile, Dr. Vikraman V, the new Chief of Renault Engineering at Renault Nissan Technology & Business Centre India, is responsible for strengthening India's role in advanced R&D and supporting Renault's global transformation.

Renault has also announced several upcoming models in India. The Renault Kwid, currently available with multiple engine options and priced at ₹ 4.70 Lakhs, is set to have an electric variant, expected to be priced at ₹ 5 Lakhs. The Renault Kiger, with a 999 cc Petrol engine and priced at ₹ 6.30 Lakhs, is another addition to the lineup.

Looking further into the future, the Renault Duster 2025 is expected to feature a 1499 cc Petrol engine and be priced at ₹ 10 Lakhs. The Renault Kardian and Renault Bigster, with expected prices of ₹ 11 Lakhs and between ₹ 13 - 18 Lakhs respectively, are also on the horizon.

Stéphane Deblaise, CEO of Renault Group India, emphasises the importance of the combination of engineering depth and creative leadership in navigating the future. The implication is that India is becoming a global epicentre for automotive innovation.

However, no new information about electric vehicles was provided in the announcement, and no new information about upcoming bikes was given.

It's worth noting that Renault Nissan India has undergone a renaming, but the specifics of this change were not disclosed.

Examples of cars Bhambra has worked on include the Renault 5 Turbo 3E, 4EVER Trophy, Scenic Vision, and Estafette Concept. With this wealth of experience, Bhambra is poised to lead Renault's design centre into a new era of innovation and success in India.
