Rigetti Computing Kicks Off 2026 With $5.7M Quantum Computing Sales

Rigetti Computing, a trailblazer in full-stack quantum computing, has kicked off 2026 with a significant boost. The company announced the sale of two 9-qubit Novera quantum computing systems, fetching a total of $5.7 million. This deal, representing around 72% of Rigetti's annual revenue over the past year, has sparked excitement and optimism for the coming months.

The buyers of these advanced systems are an Asian technology manufacturing giant and a California-based startup specialising in applied physics and artificial intelligence. CEO Dr. Subodh Kulkarni expressed enthusiasm about the growing demand for on-premises quantum computing solutions.

Rigetti's stock market capitalisation currently stands at over $11 billion, with shares trading at $35.31. The company has witnessed a three-day streak of stock growth, culminating in an 11.5% rise on Thursday morning. The delivery of both quantum computers is expected in the first half of 2026, which could significantly bolster Rigetti's revenue stream for the year.

With these substantial sales and positive stock market trends, Rigetti Computing is poised to double its sales or more in 2026. The company's pioneering role in full-stack quantum computing, offering on-premises systems with qubit counts ranging from 24 to 84, continues to attract major players in tech and AI.
