New CEO Takes the Helm at Druid AI

Joseph Kim has been appointed as the new CEO of Druid AI, taking over from interim CEO Andreea Plesea who had been in the role since the passing of founder and CEO Liviu Drăgan in May.

Kim brings over two decades of operating executive experience in the application, infrastructure, and security industries to his new role. He was most recently the CEO of Sumo Logic and has served on the boards of directors of SmartBear and Andela.

Before joining Druid AI, Kim worked as a software engineer and held leadership roles at companies including Google and Microsoft. He was also a senior operating partner at private equity firm Francisco Partners, CPTO at Citrix, SolarWinds, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and chief architect at GE.

Druid AI is an end-to-end enterprise-grade AI platform for fast development and deployment of AI agents, knowledge bases, and intelligent apps. The company boasts more than 300 global clients across various sectors including banking, financial services, government, healthcare, higher education, manufacturing, retail, and telecommunications. Notable clients include AXA Insurance, Carrefour, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Georgia Southern University, Kmart Australia, Liberty Global Group, MatrixCare, National Health Service, and Orange Auchan, among others.

The investment in Druid AI was led by Cipio Partners and also included participation from TQ Ventures, Karma Ventures, Smedvig, and Hoxton Ventures. The company secured USD 31 million in Series C financing.

Roland Dennert, managing partner at Cipio Partners, stated that the investment will help accelerate Druid AI's expansion into the U.S. and elsewhere, fuel further technological advancements, and strengthen its position as a global leader in enterprise AI solutions.

Druid AI's Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) grew 2.7x year-over-year in 2024, further solidifying the company's position in the enterprise AI market.
