Samsung Could Be Developing an Expanded Galaxy Band for Individuals with Generous Digits

Despite being too compact for certain users, an expansion in ring sizes is anticipated for the upcoming year, catering to individuals with larger finger dimensions.

Samsung Could Be Developing an Expanded Galaxy Band for Individuals with Generous Digits

Do you got large digits? Feeling excluded from the smart ring craze? The bright side is that Samsung might be expanding the availability of its Galaxy Ring to cater to diverse finger sizes, potentially including sizes 14 and 15. Currently, the smart ring is only available in size 13.

The intel emerges from the deep web's shadows and hasn't been authenticated by Samsung. However, reliable sources like 91Mobiles and Max Jambor have proven themselves accurate in leaks, so we're giving them the benefit of the doubt for now. The information about the sizes stemmed from a leaked user guide that lists nine different model numbers for the Galaxy Ring. Each smart ring size has a corresponding model number, and now, there are "14" and "15" options along with the rest. Regrettably, no further information was provided, but the model numbers follow a consistent naming convention, making the information seem credible.

The new sizes might be unveiled in January 2025. No exact date has been announced, but it could potentially be a minor addition at Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, which is slated for next month. I can picture Samsung showering the Galaxy S25 with accolades, then boasting about inventing the smart ring, followed by announcing their confidence in the product by expanding it to two more sizes.

The larger ring sizes should pull in additional users, but they also strengthen Samsung's stance against competitors. The Oura Ring, a popular smart ring that has gained traction recently, already comes in varying sizes, reaching up to a size 15. Its success has even convinced health insurance companies to cover the cost as a health aid.

Additionally, if you've got a Flexible Spending Account (FSA), you can use it to purchase the Galaxy Ring. Samsung even highlights this option on its online store, thereby expanding its market reach and becoming a viable alternative to other third-party options. It's safe to assume that Samsung is also betting that consumers will want a tracking accessory that matches their smartphone's brand, making the Galaxy Ring an appealing choice for Samsung Health users.

The expansion of Galaxy Ring sizes to include 14 and 15 could significantly boost Samsung's tech market share, as it moves to compete more effectively with devices like the Oura Ring. By 2025, tech enthusiasts may look forward to showcasing their smart rings at Galaxy Unpacked events, further cementing Samsung's place in the tech future.
