Sci-fi series 'The Expanse' ventures into video games with 'Osiris Reborn', a new title that echoes the epic scale and space exploration of Mass Effect.

Get psyched, sci-fi fanatics! The incredible world of The Expanse isn't fading into the cosmic distance just yet. During the Future Games Show, we've got a tantalizing new nugget to sink our teeth into - Osiris Reborn, a fresh video game offering from Owlcat Games.

Set amidst the show's first two and a half seasons, and featuring some of your favorite cast members revisiting their TV roles, Osiris drops you smack-dab in the middle of Eros Station as a Pinkwater mercenary on a much-needed break. But, as luck would have it, things swiftly go south, and you find yourself commandeering a vessel, putting together a team, and diving headfirst into a system-wide whodunit.

Pick your character's background from a trio of options - Earther, Martian, or Belter - each offering unique abilities tailored to their class, and switch between a third-person perspective during combat and issuing orders to your two allies. Sounds familiar? Well, it's clear that Osiris Reborn bears a striking resemblance to the ever-popular Mass Effect series, a fact design producer Yuliya Chernenko admitted during an IGN interview. The Owlcat team members grew up playing BioWare's RPG masterpiece, and it's left quite the lasting impression, they say. They're building on that legacy and striving to enhance player expectations.

But fear not, creative director Alexander Mishulin assures us that Osiris Reborn remains distinctly an Owlcat title. Dive into more choices and a more modern approach aimed at crafting your own playstyle and tailoring your own experience. He points to The Expanse as the "perfect universe" to bring the team's ideas for a sci-fi action-RPG to life, praising its grounded realism and complexity as ideal for telling an engaging, character-driven story where your choices truly matter.

So, when can you get your hands on this interstellar adventure? The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is scheduled for release soon on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.

Osiris Reborn, the forthcoming video game set in the world of The Expanse, showcases a blend of technology and science-fiction elements, featuring AI-powered gadgets and streaming services for players to immerse themselves in. As fans eagerly await its release, they might also anticipate upcoming titles in the Marvel, Star Wars, and Star Trek universes, as well as future developments in the DC Universe.

Reminiscent of BioWare's Mass Effect series, Osiris Reborn offers players the opportunity to create their unique character and experience within the interactive environment of Eros Station. The game's integration of cutting-edge technology and advanced AI systems promises an engaging, character-driven narrative that touts player choice as a significant aspect of gameplay.

With the help of breathtaking visuals and action-RPG gameplay, The Expanse: Osiris Reborn promises to bring a fresh, modern take on the sci-fi action-RPG genre, providing players with an immersive experience in the popular The Expanse universe.
