Service X experiences outage, leaving over 2,000 users without service.
Elon Musk's purchased social media platform, previously known as Twitter, experienced a significant outage yesterday, affecting users across India and several other countries. According to Downdetector.com, a tool that monitors website performance, more than 2,000 users in India reported difficulties accessing the platform.
Users encountered a message stating, "Cannot retrieve posts at this time. Please try again later." Approximately 45 percent of these users reported issues with logging in, while 39 percent encountered problems with the app, and 16 percent experienced troubles with the website. The peak of user complaints occurred at 6:18 pm, with 2,151 users reporting issues.
Users in the United States and Canada also reported experiencing issues. Downdetector.com recorded more than 25,699 users in the United States reporting issues late Saturday evening, with 68 percent experiencing login troubles, 24 percent encountering app problems, and 8 percent experiencing website issues. In Canada, over 2,230 users reported issues on Saturday evening.
Downdetector.com only reports an incident as significant when the number of user complaints exceeds the typical volume for that time of day. Previous incidents involving the platform, including one on March 10 of this year, have been linked to a data center outage, although the cause for yesterday's outage remains unclear.
