Skoda Kodiaq Hybrid Leads Sales - Now Boasting a Dual-Power Source

Pride of the Czech carmaker Skoda, the Kodiaq SUV, now dons a hybrid heart, vying for the top spot in the mid-size segment. Debuting in 2016, the Kodiaq already dominates the market without the plug-in hybrid variant. After several months on the market, this dual-heart model promises an extended electric range of over 100 kilometers.

Measuring 4.76 meters, the Kodiaq is Skoda's largest SUV, outclassing even the longer, purely electric flagship, the Enyaq, by around 10 centimeters. The new model, however, carries a hint of electricity, due to its plug-in hybrid technology it shares with the extended Superb sedan.

The battery, boasting a capacity of 25.7 kWh, allows the internal combustion engine to be turned off for over 100 kilometers, marking a significant leap in the hybrid technology that was once a niche market. The car's athletic appeal is further evidenced by its eye-catching design, characterized by vertical slats in the revamped grille and state-of-the-art headlights.

Key factors contributing to the Kodiaq's success include its customer-friendly price range and the plethora of advanced safety and technology features it offers. Notable additions are an expansive 12.9-inch touchscreen for navigation, a 10.25-inch driver display, and an innovative remote control app that lets drivers guide the vehicle into tight parking spaces after exiting.

Performance-wise, the Kodiaq PHEV produces 204 horsepower, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 210 km/h. A wide array of engine options, from gasoline to diesel, caters to various preferences. The plug-in hybrid variant, with its balanced combination of fuel and electric power, promises efficient travel and a total range exceeding 800 kilometers.

Expected to hit Australian markets in early 2026, the Kodiaq PHEV will come in two trim levels: a value-focused Select PHEV and a sportier Sportline PHEV. With competitive pricing, advanced technology, and an appealing blend of performance and efficiency, the new Kodiaq PHEV poises itself as a compelling contender in the mid-size SUV market.

  1. The Kodiaq PHEV's energy policy, favoring a balanced combination of fuel and electric power, aligns with the lifestyle of modern consumers seeking efficient traveling options and advanced technology.
  2. The Kodiaq PHEV's extended electric range of over 100 kilometers offers a significant shift in the energy policy landscape, making electric-vehicles more accessible to a wider community, including those who own cars, gadgets, and embrace technology.
  3. With its eye-catching design, expansive touchscreens for navigation, and innovative remote control app, the Kodiaq PHEV demonstrates how community policy, fostering customer-friendly pricing and advanced safety technology, can enhance the driving experience, appeal to a broader audience, and ultimately, boost sales of cars and gadgets.
