Smart TV brands team up with ROXi; US introduction
In an exciting development, ROXi, a new music video streaming app for TVs, is set to revolutionise the way we listen to music at home. Backed by influential figures such as Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams, and Kylie Minogue, ROXi aims to turn smart TVs into a smart speaker replacement for music.
The partnerships between ROXi and major TV manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Vizio, Roku, Comcast, Sony Bravia, NVIDIA Shield TVs, TCL, Hisense, Amazon Fire TV, Google TV, and Android TV are set to provide free and instant access to ROXi's impressive catalogue of 100 million music videos on tens of millions of TVs worldwide.
According to Rob Lewis, CEO of ROXi, music represents 80 per cent of listening on smart speakers today. However, he believes that audio-only listening and audio-only is ridiculous on a TV, especially when there is a TV in every home. Instead, he envisions an audio-visual experience as the preferred choice in the home, with the TV overtaking smart speakers as the preferred music player.
In the case of LG, ROXi's music video catalogue will be available in LG TV's content library, fully searchable via Voice and via the LG Magic Remote. This integration will extend to global search and voice command functions of major smart TV user experiences, making finding and playing your favourite music a breeze.
Consumers will be able to use their voice or TV remote to play all their favourite music in a music video format, providing a much superior browsing experience compared to smart speakers. This is similar to how we search for and watch movies and TV programming on our smart TVs.
The partnerships with LG, Samsung, and Sky are just the beginning. As ROXi launches across the US in Q1 2024, it's expected that more TV brands will join the movement to transform smart TVs into smart speakers for music.
ROXi is a free music video streaming app for TVs, set to redefine the way we enjoy music at home. With its vast catalogue of music videos and user-friendly interface, ROXi is set to become a staple in many homes, replacing smart speakers as the go-to music player.
