Tamil Nadu to Launch India's First Sports Tech Incubation Centre with Borussia Dortmund

Tamil Nadu is set to establish India's first Sports Tech Incubation Centre, a joint venture between Startup TN and Borussia Dortmund. While the exact locations remain unannounced, the Tamil Nadu Global Startup Summit in Coimbatore will host the official MoU signing.

Startup TN, a government initiative to foster startups, is partnering with the renowned German football club Borussia Dortmund to create this innovative hub. The centre aims to nurture sports technology startups and boost innovation in sports, health, and fitness.

The summit, scheduled for two days, will gather domestic and international startups, along with delegates from over 35 countries. It seeks to connect startups with investors, corporates, and policymakers. The event will also mark the formal exchange of a Memorandum of Understanding for the Sports Tech Incubation Centre.

Tamil Nadu, already home to 12,171 registered startups, including 6,063 with women founders, ranks third in India for startups. The state's vibrant startup ecosystem makes it an ideal location for such an incubation centre.

Although the specific cities for the Sports Tech Incubation Centre have not been officially announced, they are expected to be revealed soon. Interested parties can stay updated by monitoring the official Startup TN website, their social media channels, and local news outlets.
