Tech Firm Nazara Buys Gaming Publisher Curve Games for INR 247 Crores

In a bold move to expand its reach in the gaming universe, India's leading gaming company, Nazara Technologies Limited, has snapped up Curve Digital Entertainment Ltd - a renowned UK-based publisher of PC and console games - for approximately ₹247 crores (GBP 21.7 Million). This acquisition sets the stage for Nazara to storm the global PC and console gaming market, valued at over $100 Bn.

The strategic fusion bolsters Nazara's presence in the gaming sector, unlocking access to diverse platforms, genres, and geographies. This acquisition is in line with Nazara's established strategy of constructing a varied portfolio of businesses through purposeful acquisitions focusing on interactive gaming and sports media.

Curve Games boasts a commendable publishing track record, with a multitude of internationally acclaimed titles under its belt, collectively amassing over 100 million downloads. The firm's footprint spans crucial gaming territories, including North America, Asia Pacific, and Europe.

During the 2024 calendar year, Curve chalked up ₹263.5 crores (GBP 24.4 million) in revenue, EBITDA of ₹114.4 crores (~GBP 10.6 Million), and PBT of ₹49.6 crores (~GBP 4.6 Million).

Synergizing with Nazara Technologies

The acquisition aligns with Nazara's ongoing mission to reinforce its global publishing prowess, following a series of similar strategic maneuvers throughout the years. This megadeal underscores Nazara's steadfast commitment to long-term, value-driven growth throughout the gaming life cycle. Curve's publishing acumen in the PC and Console space, coupled with its diverse catalog, will accelerate Nazara's global aspirations and streamline cross-platform IP development with long-term value creation.

In expressing his thoughts on the acquisition, Nitish Mittersain, CEO of Nazara Technologies, declared, "Curve's unparalleled expertise in PC and Console publishing makes them an ideal partner as we steer our focus beyond mobile into high-quality, cross-platform gaming.
