Tesla China introduces zero-interest loans spanning five years for the purchase of the new Model Y
Tesla Offers 5-Year Interest-Free Financing for Model Y L in China
Tesla has announced a new financing offer for the Model Y L in China, making it more affordable for customers to purchase the six-seat, three-row SUV variant. The interest-free financing offer lasts for five years (60 months) and applies specifically to the Model Y L.
The 0% interest loan is designed to boost the appeal of the Model Y L in the competitive Chinese EV market. Deliveries for the Model Y L began in September 2025, with a starting price of about 339,000 yuan (~$47,000 USD).
The special offer allows for a deposit as low as RMB 79,900 ($10,945) and monthly payments of RMB 3,060. This financing offer is available to buyers who purchase before June 2025.
In addition to the financing offer for the Model Y L, Tesla is also promoting insurance discounts for all Model 3 trims. The RMB 8,000 subsidy for the Model 3, which was initially set to end in February, has been extended to the end of April.
Tesla's sales in China saw a 18.8% increase in March, with the company selling 74,127 units. Of these units, 48,189 were Model Y's, marking a significant increase in demand for Tesla's SUV offering in the Chinese market.
Competitors in China are also introducing innovations such as faster charging and longer driving ranges, as well as offering cheaper prices in the Chinese market. However, Tesla's latest financing offer for the Model Y L is expected to help the company maintain its competitive edge in the Chinese EV market.
The upgraded Model Y began delivery in China in February 2023 and is now available in China's largest automobile market. Tesla sells both Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) versions of the Model Y in China, starting at RMB 263,500 and RMB 313,500, respectively. Tesla China is also promoting a limited offer for the updated Model Y.
Overall, Tesla's latest financing offer for the Model Y L is expected to help boost sales of the six-seat, three-row SUV variant in China, as the company continues to compete in the competitive Chinese EV market.
