Tesla Boosts Canadian Referral Program and Offers Attractive Financing for Model Y
Tesla has relaunched its referral program in Canada, offering a win-win situation for both current and potential customers. The updated terms of the program allow Canadian customers to earn up to $13,000 CAD, while also receiving discount tires on their purchases.
From November 26, 2024, a referred buyer will receive a $2,600 CAD discount tire on their purchase of the Model S/X, Model 3/Y, and Cybertruck. The offer applies to all four models, effective from the same date.
In addition to the referral discount tire, the Tesla Model Y qualifies for a $5,000 iZEV rebate in Canada, making it an even more attractive option for potential buyers.
Tesla is also offering attractive financing options to boost sales and incentivize current Tesla owners to bring in new customers. For deliveries by September 30, 2024, the Tesla Model Y can be financed at 1.99% APR, resulting in a monthly payment of $814.66. The total obligation, excluding taxes and fees, would be $48,879.60.
Alternatively, financing the Tesla Model Y at 3.99% APR over 96 months results in a monthly payment of $566.46, with a total obligation of $54,380.16 (excluding taxes and fees).
The referral program in Canada has doubled its discount tire for Q4, and Canadian customers who refer someone to buy a Tesla can earn up to $13,000 CAD. To participate in the program, Tesla owners in Canada can share their referral link with new buyers. New Tesla customers using a valid referral link receive a 3-month Full-Self Driving (FSD) trial, while referrers earn CAD 325 in Tesla Credits.
The discount tire for the Cybertruck will become available on November 26, 2024. The Model S/X, Model 3/Y, and Model Y RWD are currently eligible for the discount tire, with the Model Y RWD priced at $53,990 and requiring a $7,500 down payment over 60 months.
The offers apply only to the Tesla Model Y, as stated in Tesla's fine print. However, the referral program is open to all Tesla vehicle buyers who start their order using a referral link and confirm benefits via the Tesla app. The program is subject to credit approval and may change at any time.
