Freshly-Squeezed: The Best Centrifugal Juicers - Unleashing Nutrients and Flavor!

Test Results Show Consistent Performance of These Juicers

Get your daily dose of vitamins from the glass, not just in the summer! Home juicers promise a tantalizing experience - smooth, tasty, and low on residue. But who is the real deal among them? The ntv/RTL test team has put four centrifugal juicers between 44 and 129 euros to the test.

Test Methodology

We press approximately 500g of carrots and 500g of oranges with each juicer. Factors like yield, taste, handling, pulp, and cleaning are examined. All juicers have a two-stage system for soft and hard fruits and vegetables. All juicers only juice when assembled correctly. With a decibel meter, we measure the noise level - which device presses the loudest?

  • Philips Viva Collection HR1856/70 - 3000 Series Juicer (800 W, QuickClean, 2L capacity) for 120 euros
  • Severin ES 3566 - Juicer (400 W, 500ml juice container) for 59.99 euros
  • OK. OPJ 4321 - Centrifugal Juicer (1000 W, 1.25L juice container, Turbo stage) for 44 euros
  • Bosch VitaJuice 2 MES25A0 - Centrifugal Juicer (700 W, 1.25L juice container) for 129 euros

Standout Performer

The Philips Viva Collection juicer is efficient; the final product shows off: creamy, scarcely any fruit flesh, finely filtered. Not to mention its compact design, ease of use, and quick cleaning, although the integrated pulp container has to be disassembled after each run - somewhat cumbersome, but made up for by the overall clean working process. The outlet can be closed, preventing any drips, and thanks to the non-slip feet, the device remains secure.

Price-Performance King

The 500ml juice container of the Severin juicer is the smallest in the test, but the device surprises with a very good yield - despite a relatively low power of 400 watts. From approximately 500g of oranges, 320ml of juice can be obtained, while the same amount of carrots yields 280ml. The juice is fresh and fruity, with occasional traces of carrot or orange flesh. Since the filling size is smaller, apples need to be chopped before juicing, and some pressure is required during pressing. Nevertheless, this value-for-money device takes up little space and is a wise investment at its RRP of 59.99 euros. One advantage: In terms of noise level, the Severin juicer is the quietest device in the test, with a value of approximately 80.

The Juicer Gone Awry

The Ok. juicer comes with a large pulp container. While that might sound practical, in practice, it turns chaotic: the container is only pushed around and appears unstable. A lot goes wrong during juicing. There's no lockable drip spout, and the pressing residues are wet after juicing.

Taste-Wise Champion

The result tastes great, although there's slightly more pulp than other models. Apples fit easily into the wide filling chute, requiring minimal pressure. However, the Ok. juicer is the loudest device in the test, with a maximum value of 95 decibels.

Bosch VitaJuice 2 MES25A0 - Centrifugal Juicer

The device from tech classic Bosch is the heaviest in the test and feels robust. The motor power is strong, and the workmanship is high-quality, noticeable in use.

Its juice capacity holds 1.25 liters, and the taste is convincing: the juice is fresh, the apple juice is slightly cloudy and pleasantly creamy. The device squeezes approximately 300 ml of juice from half a kilo of oranges, while about 400g of carrots yield 250 ml. For families or multi-person households, the Bosch VitaJuice is a good choice due to its powerful performance and efficient yield. The device's noise level in the test is consistently 85 decibels, placing it in the middle range.

The Philips Viva Collection juicer not only delivers an efficient juicing process but also maintains a vibrant, low-flesh lifestyle by offering a sleek design, ease of use, and quick cleaning, although it requires occasional disassembly of the pulp container.

Despite its small 500ml juice container and a relatively low 400-watt power, the Severin juicer proves to be a price-worthy investment in the home-and-garden sector, offering a decent yield and quiet operation, making it an ideal gadget for compact living spaces.

While the Bosch VitaJuice 2 MES25A0 centrifugal juicer delivers a convincing taste, with a capacity of 1.25 liters, it's suitable for family lifestyle and multi-person households, aligning itself to the realm of technology and home-and-garden appliances that cater to large vocational training needs.
