Theon Design Unveils 500HP Porsche 964 Restomod, Theon R
Theon Design Ltd, a UK-based firm, has unveiled the Theon R, a high-performance restomod based on the Porsche 964. This modernised classic is now available on a made-to-order basis, with only 24 units to be produced worldwide. Priced at £790,000, the Theon R offers a blend of vintage charm and cutting-edge technology.
Founded by Christofer Brinck, Theon Design Ltd has given the Porsche 964 a dramatic makeover. The Theon R boasts a modernised aesthetic with dramatic fender flares and F1-grade carbon fiber bodywork and aero kit. The lightweight carbon fiber tub, bonded to a seam-welded chassis, ensures rigidity without adding weight. Weighing around 2,200 lbs, it's lighter than the minimum weight for Miata NB1 and NB2 class racing.
Under the hood, the Theon R packs a punch with a 500 hp, 4.0-liter naturally-aspirated flat-six engine. Mated to a six-speed manual transmission and Wavetrac limited slip diff, this powerhouse propels the car from 0-60 mph in just 3 seconds and reaches 100 mph in 6.5 seconds.
The Theon R is a testament to the fusion of classic design and modern performance. With its limited production run and high price tag, it's a coveted addition to the automotive world. Theon Design Ltd has certainly made a statement with this restomod, proving that vintage charm can indeed keep up with the latest in automotive engineering.
