Today's Mini Crossword Solutions from The New York Times for December 11th's Puzzle

In case you missed last Tuesday's NYT Mini Crossword puzzle solution, check it out here:

We've got our Christmas tree up and most of our holiday decorations, but there's still some work left outside. It's quite a task to get everything ready for the holidays, but I'm fortunate that my kids are old enough now to help out a lot. Plus, they're so enthusiastic about the holidays, which is a rarity among teenagers! The holiday season is definitely upon us! Let's tackle this Mini Crossword!

The NYT Mini is a scaled-down, faster, and more approachable version of the NYT Crossword, and unlike its larger counterpart, it's completely free to play without a subscription to The New York Times. You can play it on the web or through the app, but unless you've got the app, you can't access the archive.

Answers to this Mini Crossword below . . . .

Spoilers ahead!

5 — Deadly assassin skilled in martial arts — NINJA

6 — Element found in FARGO, ND's name — ARGON

DOWN

1 — Game featuring a toppling tower — JENGA

2 — Green-skinned pear variety from ANJOU — ANJOU

3 — Sounds that might come from a kid who's been told to turn off the TV — MOANS

4 — Currency that was replaced by the euro in Italy — LIRE

5 — Catch someone in the act — NAB

Overall, this Mini Crossword was pretty straightforward, only giving me trouble in a couple of spots. I wasn't sure what 7-Across meant until I filled in other words, and I messed up 4-down by inputting LIRA instead of LIRE. Besides that, this Mini was relatively easy. It took me only 1:25 to solve it.

If you're struggling with the 'BEAUS' crossword clue, it's a quaint term for 'boyfriends'. The 'ARGON' crossword clue is related to the element whose name is found in Fargo, North Dakota. If you're looking for the 'JENGA' crossword clue answer, it's a game with a tower that topples. For today's NYT Mini Crossword, you can find the clues and answers 'here'. If you need a hint for the 'LENO' crossword clue, it's the talk show host who led "The Tonight Show" from 1992–2009 and 2010–14. Lastly, if you're dealing with the 'LIRE' crossword clue, it's the currency that was replaced by the euro in Italy.
