Today's NYT 'Strands' Challenge: Clues, Spangram, and Solutions for Sunday, December 22nd's Puzzle

It's a laid-back Sunday, perfect for indulging in word games and solving puzzles, if you ask me. Truth be told, isn't any day suitable for such activities? Especially since it's the last Sunday before Christmas, which is coming at us faster than Rudolf and the gang on a sleigh ride. Think about it, if Sudan's reindeer could be turned into a puzzle, why not Santa's?

Now, for today's puzzle, let's dive into 'Strands', the latest addition to New York Times' lineup of brain teasers. It's a fresh take on classic word search games. Each day, a new theme is given, and the goal is to discover all the related words on the grid. A spangram, spanning across two sides of the board, is also part of the puzzle. This word reveals even more about the theme of the day.

Today’s Strands Breakdown

I quite enjoyed today's Strands. There was a previous version with famous lines from Queen's song 'Bohemian Rhapsody'. That one was certainly more complex. This one, once BELLS and SNOW were discovered, had me humming 'Walking In A Winter Wonderland' in my head. The most challenging word was GLISTENING, with two options for arranging the 'N's at the end of the word. A fun, if not too difficult, Strands today.
