Wordle Analysis

I initially thought my opening guess was a bothersome blessing. Sure, three green boxes are encouraging, but they also mean a plethora of surprisingly comparable words to choose from: STARE, SCARE, SHAPE, SCALE, and so on. Turns out, I was left with 18 potential words, most of which were awfully alike. I needed to eliminate as many letters as possible, especially H, P, R, and C. By guessing something with a new vowel, I landed on CHURN. The 'U' proved crucial, leaving me with only SUAVE as an option!

Competitive Wordle Points

I earned 1 point for solving in 3 turns and 0 points for tying the Bot. 1 point is just right!

How to Play Competitive Wordle

  • Guessing in 1 bags 3 points; guessing in 2 bags 2 points; guessing in 3 bags 1 point; guessing in 4 bags 0 points; guessing in 5 bags -1 points; guessing in 6 bags -2 points; and missing the Wordle bags -3 points.
  • If you outsmart your opponent, you bag 1 point. If you tie, you bag 0 points. And if you lose to your opponent, you bag -1 point. Sum it up to get your score. Keep a daily tally or play for a fresh score every day.
  • Fridays bag double the points – both positively or negatively.
  • You can stick to a daily tally or simply play day-by-day. Have fun!

Today's Wordle Origins

The word 'suave' originates from the Latin 'suāvis', signifying "sweet" or "agreeable". It drifting into Old French as 'suave' with the same meaning and then eventually traveling into English during the 16th century. Initially, it preserved the notion of being "pleasant" or "charming". Over time, it changed to specifically describe someone with a smooth, confident, and sophisticated demeanor in social or interpersonal situations.
