Tokayev Proposes Digital, Energy, and Cyber Initiatives at OTS Summit

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the 12th Organization of Turkic States (OTS) summit, proposed a series of initiatives to boost digital development, energy efficiency, and cybersecurity. The leaders signed the Gabala Declaration, committing to these proposals.

Tokayev suggested dedicating next year's informal OTS summit to Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development. He also proposed creating a Council on Best Practices in Energy Efficiency to promote sustainable development in energy cooperation.

In the digital sphere, Tokayev proposed setting up a Turkic States Digital Innovation Center to support startups and attract venture capital. He also called for the establishment of a council on cybersecurity under the OTS to coordinate joint efforts against cyberattacks. Additionally, Tokayev proposed creating a Digital Monitoring Center within OTS to oversee logistics flows and enhance regional connectivity.

To expand cooperation, Tokayev proposed the OTS+ format, with Kazakhstan's support. No specific countries have yet been named for the establishment of a cybersecurity council.

The Gabala Declaration, signed at the summit, outlines these proposed initiatives. Tokayev emphasized unity in addressing global challenges and underscored economic cooperation as the foundation for stability and prosperity, suggesting an Industrial Cooperation Program with concrete priority projects.
