UAE Introduces Digital Verification Platform for Authenticating Educational Credentials in Job Applications

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rolled out a new digital system designed to authenticate academic qualifications, a move aimed at improving employment procedures and bolstering the integrity of the labor market.

The initiative was unveiled jointly by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), marking a substantial stride in the country's commitment to an integrated digital employment ecosystem.

Known as the Academic Qualification Verification Project, the system enables private sector employers to validate academic certificates—whether locally or internationally earned—via MoHRE's digital platforms and service centers. The service currently covers skill levels 1 to 4 within the National Qualifications Framework, with plans to incorporate UAE-issued degrees at a later stage.

Officials expect the project to support the UAE's digital transformation objectives, as well as improve service delivery and reduce bureaucracy across sectors. The system serves to verify the authenticity of qualifications, thereby deterring fraudulent practices and fostering swifter, more dependable hiring processes.

Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations at MoHRE, expressed that the initiative bolsters the UAE's endeavors to attract global talent and bolster its competitive edge in the employment sector. He highlighted that embedding the verification process within work permit procedures strengthens regulatory supervision and service efficiency.

In turn, Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, Undersecretary of MoHESR, emphasized the initiative's alignment with academic output and labor market requirements, contributing to the national strategy for establishing a knowledge-based economy. He reiterated that the service complements the Zero Government Bureaucracy program by supplying rapid, customer-centric solutions.

The digital verification process streamlines procedures, minimizes paperwork, institutes a unified handling process with a single fee, and encourages increased collaboration between government and private entities. Ultimately, this project strengthens the UAE's reputation as a global investment and employment magnet.

The project draws support from both the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and is available through MoHRE’s digital platforms, including the website and mobile application. The service offers digital verification of academic credentials, integration within work permit applications, and a simplified fee structure.

The UAE launched the system as part of its vision for digital transformation, targeting private sector employees boasting academic qualifications from abroad. The move is expected to create a more efficient and streamlined employment ecosystem, catering to the country's goal of maintaining a conducive environment for global talent and boosting competitiveness in the employment sector.
