UAE Introduces Digital Verification Platform for Authenticating Educational Credentials in Job Applications
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has rolled out a new digital system designed to authenticate academic qualifications, a move aimed at improving employment procedures and bolstering the integrity of the labor market.
The initiative was unveiled jointly by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), marking a substantial stride in the country's commitment to an integrated digital employment ecosystem.
Known as the Academic Qualification Verification Project, the system enables private sector employers to validate academic certificates—whether locally or internationally earned—via MoHRE's digital platforms and service centers. The service currently covers skill levels 1 to 4 within the National Qualifications Framework, with plans to incorporate UAE-issued degrees at a later stage.
Officials expect the project to support the UAE's digital transformation objectives, as well as improve service delivery and reduce bureaucracy across sectors. Khalil Al Khoori, Undersecretary for Labour Market and Emiratisation Operations at MoHRE, expressed that the initiative bolsters the UAE's endeavors to attract global talent and bolster its competitive edge in the employment sector. He highlighted that embedding the verification process within work permit procedures strengthens regulatory supervision and service efficiency.
In turn, Dr. Mohammad Al Mualla, Undersecretary of MoHESR, emphasized the initiative's alignment with academic output and labor market requirements, contributing to the national strategy for establishing a knowledge-based economy. He reiterated that the service complements the Zero Government Bureaucracy program by supplying rapid, customer-centric solutions.
The digital verification process streamlines procedures, minimizes paperwork, institutes a unified handling process with a single fee, and encourages increased collaboration between government and private entities.
