UK-Vietnam Business Summit 2025 to Strengthen Trade Ties and Boost Renewable Energy

The UK-Việt Nam Business Summit 2025 is set to take place on November 5 in HCM City. The event aims to strengthen ties between UK and Vietnamese businesses, with a focus on developing an international financial centre and advancing renewable energy in the Vietnamese market.

The summit's strategic priorities include positioning HCM City as a regional financial hub and facilitating a sustainable energy transition in Việt Nam. Việt Nam, for its part, is committed to developing 6,000-17,000MW of offshore wind capacity by 2035, with each project taking 6-9 years to complete.

The event will provide a unique gateway for UK businesses to build strategic partnerships and expand growth opportunities in the Vietnamese market. This comes at a time when two-way trade between the UK and Việt Nam has more than tripled over the past decade, exceeding nine billion GBP annually. The UK-Việt Nam Free Trade Agreement (UKVFTA) and the UK's CPTPP accession have eliminated tariffs on 99% of UK exports to Việt Nam, further boosting trade prospects.

Nirukt Sapru, Chairman of Jardine Matheson in Vietnam, has been involved in events highlighting the growth and collaboration of British businesses in the region. The summit will foster stronger policy dialogue between the government and the business community to address concerns of international investors.

The UK-Việt Nam Business Summit 2025 promises to be a significant platform for enhancing cooperation between the two nations. With its focus on financial centre development and renewable energy, the summit aligns with Việt Nam's strategic goals and the UK's trade interests. The event is expected to further strengthen the already robust trade relationship between the UK and Việt Nam.
