UOB Launches AI Skills Drive to Future-Proof Workforce
United Overseas Bank (UOB) has launched an ambitious initiative to equip its entire workforce with skills in generative AI and automation. The bank aims to build a resilient, future-ready workforce that can deliver enhanced customer experiences in the digital age.
UOB has established an Innovation Academy to provide practical training in AI, data, and blockchain. Specialised roles will receive in-depth training in areas such as data science. The initiative builds on the success of UOB's Better U Pivot Programme, which has already engaged over 26,000 employees since 2019.
To help staff apply generative AI in their daily work, UOB has introduced IBF-accredited prompt crafting workshops. Furthermore, UOB has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with key partners to support employees in adapting to AI. These partners include the Institute of Banking and Finance, Workforce Singapore, and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. UOB is also grooming innovation champions to promote the use of new tools and drive operational improvements.
UOB's AI training drive is set to equip its workforce with the skills needed to thrive in the digital age. By investing in its employees' future, UOB aims to deliver improved customer experiences while ensuring a resilient and adaptable workforce.
