Vietnamese Steel Giants Set for Double-Digit Profit Growth in Q3 2025
Vietnamese steel giants like Hoa Phat, Ton Dong A, and Nam Kim are set to enjoy double-digit profit growth in Q3/2025. This surge is driven by increased demand and favorable world market conditions.
Hoa Sen, a leading player, is expected to report a staggering VND260 billion ($9.85 million) in profit, marking a 244% year-on-year increase. This remarkable growth is echoed across the industry, with gross margins rebounding significantly due to stable steel prices and lower input costs.
Construction steel and HRC (hot rolled coil) dominate the stock market today, accounting for 65% of total steel volume in Q3/2025. HRC consumption is projected to grow by 48% year-on-year, reaching 1.7 million tons. Similarly, construction steel consumption is expected to increase by 10% year-on-year. This robust demand has led to a modest recovery in steel prices, with HRC prices rising by 2% and construction steel prices by 3% quarter-on-quarter.
Domestic producers like Hoa Phat and Formosa are expected to strengthen their market share in Q3/2025. Overall, domestic steel output is projected to rise by 21% year-on-year, reaching 6.3 million tons.
The Vietnamese steel industry is poised for a strong Q3/2025, with significant profit growth and increased output. This positive outlook is driven by robust demand, stable prices, and improved market conditions, setting the stage for further growth.
