Zeekr unveils sneak peek of the 007 GT, their upcoming shooting brake version following the 001 model.

Zeekr, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, has made a significant mark in the industry with record-breaking vehicle deliveries. In December alone, the company delivered a staggering 27,190 vehicles, bringing the full-year deliveries to an impressive 222,123 units.

The latest addition to Zeekr's lineup, the Zeekr 007 GT, is generating a lot of buzz due to its blend of performance and practicality. This electric vehicle offers a range of up to 740 km on the WLTP cycle, with options for 75 kWh and 100 kWh battery packs. The 007 GT features an 800V battery system, allowing for rapid charging: the 75 kWh battery can charge from 10% to 80% in just 10 minutes, while the 100 kWh version can achieve approximately 610 km of range in about 15 minutes.

In terms of performance, the rear-wheel drive version of the Zeekr 007 GT Estate produces 416 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds. The all-wheel drive version boosts this to 637 horsepower, achieving the same sprint in just 2.95 seconds.

The design of the Zeekr 007 GT is as impressive as its performance. It features aggressive styling elements like swallow tail spoilers and a duct tail spoiler, which slightly increase the drag coefficient to 0.23. This design provides additional trunk space and practicality. The interior of the vehicle includes electric doors for both front and rear, a 15.4-inch screen in the center, and customizable buttons for convenience.

While specific features and specifications for the "shooting brake style model" are not explicitly detailed, the Zeekr 007 GT offers insights into what might be expected from related models within the Zeekr lineup. The shooting brake style typically emphasizes a more practical yet stylish approach, which could align with the aggressive yet practical design elements of the Zeekr 007 GT.

Zeekr plans to launch three new models in 2025, including two hybrids. The Zeekr 007 GT is expected to be launched in the second quarter. The company's CEO, Andy An, has confirmed that the Zeekr 007 GT will be one of these new models.

The Zeekr 007 GT is based on the Zeekr 007 sedan, which was officially launched on December 27, 2023. The company's first model, the Zeekr 001, initially went on sale on April 15, 2021. The Zeekr 001 delivered 76,246 units in 2023, contributing to 64 percent of Zeekr's total deliveries for the year.

Building shooting brake models based on sedans has become a common move for local EV makers. For instance, Nio (NYSE: NIO) launched the ET5 Touring on June 15, 2023, based on the regular ET5 electric sedan. Similarly, Neta Auto launched the Neta S shooting brake on August 25, 2024, based on the Neta S sedan.

Zeekr will launch the Zeekr 7 GT in overseas markets, according to the publication learned. The company's unconventional design as its first model was considered a risky move, but it was later proven to be the right one. Zeekr plans to launch three all-new models in 2025, one in each of the second through fourth quarters.

With its record-breaking deliveries and the upcoming launch of the Zeekr 007 GT, Zeekr is set to continue its growth in the EV market. The Zeekr 007 GT promises to be a game-changer, offering a blend of performance, practicality, and style that is sure to appeal to a wide range of consumers.
