In a bold move at the Meta Connect 2025 keynote, Mark Zuckerberg unveiled the Meta Ray-Ban Display, a groundbreaking wearable technology marketed as the epitome of "agentic AI" with digital assistants that act on behalf of users. However, the live demonstration of this innovative product was marred by several technical glitches.

Priced at $799, the Meta Ray-Ban Display promises to be a game-changer in AI-powered personal technology, with the ability to anticipate needs and handle tasks with minimal user effort. Zuckerberg emphasised this potential during his presentation, framing the glasses as a significant leap forward.

Unfortunately, two live demos of the Meta Ray-Ban Display malfunctioned during Zuckerberg's presentation. Despite these onstage glitches, Zuckerberg maintained his composure, making a light-hearted joke about the situation. He was joined onstage by Jack Mancuso, a cooking creator, who encountered issues with the new LiveAI feature, which is supposed to walk users through recipes step by step.

Mancuso, like many others, blamed the Wi-Fi for the issues he faced. The Neural Band showcase also had its share of problems, as Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth was unable to initiate a WhatsApp video call with the glasses.

Tech Radar's Lance Ulanoff stated that Zuckerberg's presentation included some very big fails. Ulanoff acknowledged that Zuckerberg took a risk by demonstrating the Meta Ray-Ban Display live, and though it didn't go his way in a couple of instances, he gave Zuckerberg credit for maintaining his composure. Ulanoff also noted that developers often advise against running live demos due to potential issues with large numbers of people on the Wi-Fi at the same time.

Despite the technical hiccups, the Meta Ray-Ban Display represents an exciting step forward in the realm of AI-powered wearable technology. As Ulanoff mentioned, other big tech firms do not do live presentations, making Zuckerberg's decision to do so all the more daring.

Fox News Digital reached out to Meta for comment regarding the issues experienced during the live demonstration, but no response has been received as of yet. As the dust settles on the Meta Connect 2025 keynote, the Meta Ray-Ban Display remains a promising prospect, despite the glitches that marred its initial unveiling.
